An Opportunity to Get Involved and Have Fun!

If you want to see the small, gated playground (the old one at the back) re-done, join the Playground Committee.  Come dream up the perfect playground with us.  We've just won a grant for $18,000 worth of new rubber playground surfacing that we need to spend within 24 months.  Call Cheryl at (310) 948-8546 and we will find a meeting time that works for the members of this new committee.

Classroom Updates

Jaguar-Oxen-Snakes (Leah’s Class)

This week we have been exploring formulas of all kinds! Dog biscuits, Gak!, potions, fruit juice, volcanoes and more. Each student has a formula book in which they are recording their formulas and by the end of the week should have a secret formula to share with the class for ‘Author’s Chair’. In Math we have continued to work with finding the missing addend (one of the numbers being added in a given problem), made a bar graph of how many teeth we have lost, and we will be delving into multiplication and division. We are still working on the human body for science and will be beginning planting miniature native-plant habitats. Our Language Arts centers have been going well; students are working on plays, magazines, Pictionary (vocabulary building), and reading. All in all, it’s been a good week! Until next time, have a wonderful week!
