Pacifica WeeklyPrevious | Next June 18, 2008 HAPPY COMMENCEMENT/GRADUATION DAY! TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! Here is today’s Commencement/Graduation Schedule:
If you want to volunteer for setting up, moving chairs, cleaning up, etc., WE NEED YOU! Please see Lisa or Carmen to volunteer! IMPORTANT CALENDAR DATES
If you have items to add to the calendar, please e-mail the date and time along with a description to calendar@pacificaschool.org GOVERNANCE ELECTIONS END TODAY Be sure to get your ballots in today! Please check your mailbox for this year’s Governance election ballots – every family gets two votes, every student one. The red X you’ll see on your ballot means “Please ignore the instructions on the top section of the ballot!” – we’re not using envelopes this year! No muss, no fuss, no hanging chads: just check off your votes on the three issues and insert your ballot(s) in the box in the entranceway by end of school today. Check our website (www.pacificaschool.org) tomorrow for election results! SUMMER GARDENING FUN - ALL WELCOME! Karina Brown, Kaiya's (from 2/3) and Duke's (who will be in 2 next year) mom, is organizing the gardening (and kid playing) at school. Lakshmi Lambert (Mom of Zhuba from 4/5) and Ijeoma Osuji (Niyeh's Mom from 2/3) have agreed to pitch in. They plan to meet Monday (6/23), Wednesday (6/25) and Friday (6/27) at 10:00 A.M. for a few hours. Please come and join the fun and bring your kids and get your hands dirty. Check in with Karina with any questions: 310-707-8181 ANNUAL GIVING It's not too late to donate to Pacifica! Call Cheryl Ward at (310) 545-6151 to make a donation by credit card. OR, mail a check to Pacifica at 3754 Dunn Drive, LA 90034 It's simple. Your donation pays for teachers and keeping the lower child to teacher ratio we enjoy now. We appreciate that you volunteer and make lots of donations throughout the year to your child's classroom. Unfortunately, these donations cannot pay teachers' salaries. As a charter school, we are put in a tougher spot than regular public schools with respect to school funding. Staff salaries make up 85% of the school's budget and rent is most of the rest. Feel free to contact Cheryl with any questions about school funding, where the money is spent, etc. Cheryl Ward (310) 545-6151 Fundraising Committee, Annual Giving Sub-Committee HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!
