DON'T FORGET THE SPRING JUBILLEE THIS SATURDAY!!!!! 

Saturday, May 31st, 1:00 – 5:30 pm: There will be tons of booths, food and fun-the middle school will be hosting Carnival Alley where you can try and beat the odds! All this is yours for only $2.00 admission (no one ever turned away for inability to pay), so invite your friends and neighbors, too. Set up starts at noon, but drop a note in the Mokhtari box if you need more time for your booth. This is our last fundraising event for the year so we really need to all turn out to make it a big success!

HELLO DIFFENDOOFER PARENTS & STUDENTS!

We've been having some great rehearsals – thank you to all of you who have been coming, and working hard. Please help your kids memorize their lines & cues! Here’s the rehearsal schedule starting June 2nd:

  • Monday, June 2nd, 3:15-4:45 pm: Run-through of Act 1 (everyone in Act 1)
  • Tuesday, June 3rd, 3:15-4:45 pm: Run-through of Act 2 (everyone in Act 2)
  • Wednesday, June 4th; 3:15-4:45 pm: Run-through of the whole play (everyone)
  • Thursday, June 5th, 3:15-4:45 pm: Technical Run-through, backstage people, sound, music, anything technical or music. Actors' day off.
  • Friday, June 6th, 3:15-5:00 pm: Dress Rehearsal - do the whole play with costumes, props, sound and musicians.
  • Saturday, June 7th: Show at 3:00pm. Rehearsal time beforehand to be announced depending on how things are going and what we might need to iron out.

Things to bring to rehearsals: a snack; an extra set of clothes to wear for painting sets and costumes without wrecking their school clothes; plain T-shirts or other clothes to paint as costumes; extra clothes to donate for others who might not have; fabric paints if you have them or can get them.

SETS! Please send the aforementioned extra clothes for painting in ASAP so we can get started – we’ll store them at school so kids can work this week and whenever it works for the teachers. We got the environmentally/physical health friendly paints for the kids to paint with!

COSTUMES! Please go into your closet! Check thrift stores! Think Seuss: bright, silly, stripes, swirls, dots, shapes, tights, hats, weird, silly, did I say bright? Most importantly - only get what your child feels comfortable in - don't worry about if I will like it - just ask your kid!

SUPPORT THE PACIFICA FOOD DRIVE

The Pacifica Homeless Service Exploration is hosting a 3 week food drive to support the Los Angeles Regional Food bank. The L.A. Regional Food Bank serves the whole of Los Angeles Counties needs for charitable organizations to provide food to shelters, food pantries and L.A. school lunch programs for those in need.

Please bring in your nonperishable food items such as canned goods, rice, peanut butter etc. No glass containers please. Food Bank containers are located in the entry hall, 1-2 class, 2-3 class and 6-7 class. For more information contact Jaymie Homan (mom of Sam 1-2 and Ruby 4-5) at 310-261-5484.
