ART PARTY A SMASHING SUCCESS!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! to everyone in our community who made the Art Party such a success by:  setting up, serving drinks, serving food, selling tickets at the door, working the cashier's table, auctioneering, doing security, cleaning up and especially by ATTENDING!!!  We made a bunch of cash to help keep our school rolling. If you didn't make it, you really missed out on a fun night, so put us on your calendar for next year!

If you won anything at the Art Party silent auction that you haven't picked up yet, come by the office and see Carmen, drop a note in the Mokhtari box. There's a lot of great stuff still to be picked up!

WORK AT CAFÉ PACIFICA!

Do you like hanging around at the school and talking to people? You do? Well, how about spending an hour a week helping out at CAFE PACIFICA?!!??!!!? It's fun, easy, and helps us redirect money from Starbucks to our school! Drop a note in the Mokhtari box or sign up to work a shift while you are getting your morning coffee.  You could also volunteer to pick up local baked goods for us.

PARENT PARTICIPATION COMMITTEE MEETING FRIDAY

Our next parent participation meeting is this Friday March 14 at 3:30-4:30pm. All are welcome to come, especially committee members. This counts as 1 hour of participation for the month of March.  We look forward to seeing you all there!

DATE CHANGE: FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE MEETING

The next Fundraising Committee meeting has been moved to Monday, March 17th at 3:15pm. Please join us; it's not all about begging for money! No, really!!! Even if you want to just drop by with a good idea, we'd love to see you!

CLASSROOM UPDATES

K/1 Group:

K/1 has been busy studying their plant unit and will be wrapping up the unit just before Spring Break.  As part of their plant studies, the class is scheduled to take a nature hike on Friday, March 14th from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm at Topanga Canyon. We are still looking for parent drivers. Please sign up on the board outside the classroom, if you can drive, and let us know how many students you can take.

K/1 has also been busy welcoming their new teacher, Kelly Branam. Kelly spends the first half of each day in the K/1 classroom with Eric & Sascha, and the second half in the 1/2 classroom with Shaquanda and Tracie. Kelly has really hit the ground running, and is making a great contribution to the classroom.

Eric is going to be out of the country from March 17th through March 28th, on a trip scheduled before he joined us at Pacifica. While he is away, Kelly will be the full-time teacher with Sascha, and Carol will come back to the classroom as the half-day teacher.

Please join us on Saturday, March 15th, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. outside the K/1 classroom for K/1 Coffee & Bagels with Kelly, hosted by the K/1 Parent Participation Committee.  Get to know Kelly better and get your volunteer participation hours all at the same time. Bring your spouse and double your hours! Kids are welcome, too!
