ART PARTY A SMASHING SUCCESS!
Congratulations to Erika Gonzalez, Stephanie Balikos and the rest of the Fundraising Committee crew who worked so hard to create a splendid event, Pacifica-style! We exceeded our budgetary goal and had a lot of fun in the process! There was excellent artwork, treats and favors to bid on, fabulous food and drink, and the amazing A.J. Lentini auctioneering (Mary White and others assisting) throughout. Kids got to watch the latest Shrek movie in the back while adults and kids mingled and schmoozed in the main hall and had a great time. Thanks so much to our sponsors, supporters, Fundraising Committee and of course, to the Pacifica Community for coming out in force and supporting our school!
EARLY RELEASE DAY THIS FRIDAY
Don’t forget to pick up your kids by 12:45 this Friday, March 7th! Extended after care is available for those students whose parents are unable to pick them up at 12:45. Pre-enrollment and pre-payment for this service is required. The fee is $10 for care up until 3:20. After 3:20, regular aftercare billing kicks in. See Carmen in the office to sign your child up and make your payment. Thanks!
TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY THIS FRIDAY
Once again, this Friday, March 7th, we will show our appreciation for our hardworking teachers and staff. Please bring your choice of breakfast, juice, snacks or lunch, paper plates, paper cups and utensils to the office at drop-off or pick-up time.
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME REMINDER
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour on Sunday Morning March 9th!
PLEASE CHECK THE LOST AND FOUND!
Darby will spread out the lost and found for people to recover items on Thursday (let her know if you recognize anything). On Friday you are welcome to help yourself – on Saturday, anything that remains will go to Goodwill.
CHARTER UPDATE
The LAUSD Charters and Innovations Committee of the School Board will meet today (3/6) to review our request for an amendment to our charter petition. They will vote on the Charter Division’s recommendation to approve our request to extend our charter for three more years. Once approved, our request will be submitted to the LAUSD Board for their consent calendar. We hope that the LAUSD Board will vote at the Board Meeting scheduled in two weeks, but we don't know yet.
A few of us will be attending this meeting to answer any questions that the Committee may have for us. We are not speaking or presenting our school to the Committee.
