Science Fair

The Second Annual Pacifica Science Fair will be held this Thursday, June 8th from 6:00-7:45pm. The classrooms will be open for viewing during the entire fair. Students will be available at their display to demonstrate and answer questions according to the following schedule. Please bring a potluck dish to share (main dish or salad). We will start eating at 6:00.

STAFF APPRECIATION DAY, TUESDAY, JUNE 13^th

Please take this opportunity to express your gratitude and appreciation for Pacifica staff members. Remember to bring food (salad, main or side dish, fruit, dessert), drinks (fruit juice or water), flowers, your children's craft, poem, or thank you card, and leave them in the staff lounge by noon on June 13th.

Pacifica is Hiring

Pacifica's hiring committee is looking for a few new teachers for next fall (we are adding more staff). If you know someone who is a fit for Pacifica, please have them send a resume with a cover letter noting major influences on their teaching style and educational philosophy to: susan@pacificaschool.org or fax to (310) 845-9402. 

Explorations Fair

We will be celebrating the culmination of our third round of Explorations on Thursday, June 15^th at 1:00pm with an exhibition of our work. Enjoy museums, performances, and presentations on topics from Edible Art to Metallica. Ask your child which Exploration they are participating in. The entire community is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Re-enrollment meetings

During your June classroom meetings, we will devote a portion of the time to re-enrollment. Attendance at these meetings is MANDATORY for re-enrollment. Please watch for dates of the classroom meetings!

Last Pacifica Beautification Day of the Year

Saturday 6/17/2006

10am to 2pm

Our last Beautification day is coming up on the 17th! This time, in particular, will be spent focusing on helping the teachers to clean and organize their classrooms and supplies before we break for summer vacation. Much, much help will be needed! It's a big job for the teachers and we really need our parents & community members to chip in. Teachers will have 'To Do' lists specific to their classrooms and there will be additional site maintenance jobs as well. Please make every effort to join us. If you have not already done your two required work days, now is the time! Please don't hesitate to come check-in with Lisa in the office if you have any questions.
