Alfie Kohn to Speak at Parent Participation Convention

Alfie Kohn is the author of books that have been very influential here at Pacifica including “Punished By Rewards,” “The Schools Our Children Deserve” and “Beyond Discipline.” He will be the keynote speaker at the CCPPNS Convention 2006 (a parent participation school convention) at the Radisson LAX this Saturday, April 1st at 8:30 am.  To register, go to www.ccppns.org OR, register in person at the convention.

ALSO: Please sign up to take a shift at Pacifica's booth at the parent participation schools convention. See the poster in the front hall. We especially need help on Friday.

Learn to Play Chess!

Beginner & Intermediate Chess Exploration starting soon! We need someone to teach the Thursday Explorations – Michael Goldstein will be teaching on Tuesdays – please contact Michael if you’re interested: 310.737.1998.

Enrollment Committee Update

We had an extra large and enthusiastic visitor tour on Tuesday, due the our upcoming application deadline and lottery for new students for the ’06-’07 school year. The lottery will be held this Friday, March 31st. Acceptance and wait list letters will go out early next week. We will probably have an additional open enrollment period after March 31st to build up our waiting lists. More information will follow. Thanks to all for responding so quickly to our re-enrollment information request. And thank you to all our staff for being such gracious hosts.
