We're still looking for 100% participation from Pacifica families and we're not quite there, yet. Please take a little time to fulfill your commitment if you made one, or make a commitment if you have yet to do so, and help us realize our full potential in community based fundraising at Pacifica School. We thank you Pacifica’s New “Green Team” Starting Up! With new landscape plantings around campus from Tree People, Neighborhood Matching Fund, Common Vision and parents, it’s critically important that we adequately maintain our open space resources. To that end, the “Green Team” will be meeting weekly on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30am to ensure our campus plants and trees thrive right along with our students. Your volunteer time counts toward your parent participation commitment, while getting some fresh air and plant interaction! Bring gardening gloves and hand tools if you have them. All are welcome!! CLASSROOM UPDATES Sascha’s Class: (Submitted 3.14.06) We began our week with our second-to-last session with Malick Sow. I don’t think I’m the only one who has enjoyed our sessions with Malick. He has taught us to make wonderful music together, to take chances and let our creativity flow. This Wednesday, Ranger Rich Levin will be coming after lunch to give a presentation on local native cultures. This presentation will help kick off our unit on our local environment and its history. As a part of that unit, we will be going on a guided tour of the Page Museum on Friday, April 21, and will be needing transportation. If you can help, please let me know. Last Friday we had a great trip with Patrick’s class to Solstice Canyon. I am still collecting $4 for each student. If you haven’t sent in your field trip money, please do so, so that we can pay for the school bus. |
